FAQ
Why do we train on Salesforce?
Aside from Salesforce already being one of the world’s most-used technologies in small and large businesses, government, nonprofits, education, and more, it is expected to grow into a $1.6 trillion business by 2026 and create 9.3 million new jobs. Upskillr seeks to create skilled practitioners to meet the growing demand for tech labor.
How accessible is Salesforce?
Salesforce is a very accessible technology! Salesforce is built as a low-code or no-code environment which means that the inner workings of a Salesforce instance (e.g. the tools to adjust, alter, or rebuild the system) are accessible without having to access or change any code. This ability to build or rebuild software by clicking through settings and not using a coding language is also referred to as “declarative development”.
What is low-code / no-code?
It is exactly what it sounds like - the ability to develop functional software without having to write, amend, or access any program code. When you build on the Salesforce platform, while there is an underlying code base, Salesforce provides you with the tools to effectively write the code for you. There can be situations when coding is necessary, but Salesforce's own documentation makes it very clear that code should only be used when all other options are exhausted.
That's great, but I don't want to be pigeonholed into only knowing Salesforce.
While you can spend your entire career in the Salesforce space (as so many hundreds of thousands of professionals have), the principles and best practices we teach apply to most other software and nearly any technology implementation. More so, the Salesforce platform is built with the same data architecture as nearly every other data management product out there (i.e. object-oriented, related databases) so the Salesforce skills you develop are instantly transferrable to many other technologies.
Then why don't you use those other products?
Because Salesforce is open source while most of those other products are not. We can't get “under the hood” of those tools to show you how they work. This and the other reasons above are why we at Upskillr believe Salesforce to be the best-suited tool for training novice or junior technologists.
